About Paul / About Pam / Client Comments
Paul got his start in 1980 when he had too many study halls in 9th grade. The guidance counselor informed him that he needed to select an elective, and he has had a camera around his neck ever since. You can guess he picked photography. Starting off with the yearbook photography staff he excelled. The senior year brought a new twist as he worked co-op for The Progressive Publishing Co. as a lab technician and freelance photographer. Usually assigned to the “lesser” jobs. At first he made the best of every situation by giving the assignment his own flair. Being a people person, the tasks were more enjoyable for everyone.
College brought on the tasks of environmental portraiture, (better said, didn’t have a studio) and modeling folios for a friends daughter and her friends. After college he returned to Clearfield and was asked to cover his first wedding. A friend had booked a photographer that was injured and would not be able to make it to the wedding the following week. He filled in and from that wedding two more were booked that year. As the next few years went on, so did the number of weddings. He joined the Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association in 1998 and attended Professional Seminars on style and technique. His favorite was a wedding safari at Central Station in Pittsburgh.
Weddings have grown to 30 plus a year, and definitely only one a day, so he can give the focus and commitment to the Bride and Groom. Weddings over the past 18 years have changed a lot. From the
Small intimate to the large and outlandish the formats are all the couples wishes put in order.
Attending a Bridal Show with Paul in 1997 she heard many people ask if he knew any one that does video. After about the 30th person asking she realized that there was a need for a videographer in the area. They spent a full year studying equipment from standard vhs to the best in digital. The editing equipment was also a big investment as there were hundreds of choices in each format. After much deliberation the decision was made to do it right from the beginning and go DIGITAL, from camera to editor, and now to be able to burn DVD’s. Technique was also a big part of the study as in learning how to shoot and edit and not make it look like a home movie. All the best equipment can only help, but the right eye for the scene and the ability to edit into something that you’ll want to watch is what separates her from the rest. A wireless microphone and a low level light and tripod are a must to make the best Video.
All of the essentials are captured from the preparations before, the mothers coming in, the whole ceremony, receiving line, and during the photos after words, to all the formal events and guests at the reception, are captured professionally, and edited into a very watch able Video.
A video montage is a nice addition to any wedding day. They take 100 of your most treasured photos from earliest childhood up till current photos of the couple together and put them to video with some special effects and transitions and top it off with some special music for a 10 minute video that will be sure to captivate you guests.

Dear Pam I just had to take a moment to write you and let you know how unbelievable our wedding video is. It is beautiful, thoughtfully put together and professionally done. We are both thrilled with the picture and sound quality. I think it is fair to say we like it even more than our wedding photographs. Thank you for such a great job! Very truly yours, Stacy (Unfortunately they did not have Phase One Photography & Video for their Photography.) |
